Remembering the veterans today.

I stopped at the town cemetery. I wanted to see the flags on the graves of our veterans.

There were flags on newer stones, some had the Marines flag flying next to the U.S. flag.

There were many flags on the older stones. I saw one with a date of death in 1868. I'm guessing he was a veteran from the Civil War.

This man was so young when he died.

I couldn't stop looking at this flag plastered against the gravestone. It looks like it's leaning against the stone, holding on to it.

I imagine there was a loved one who wanted to do the same thing.
