Painting with Picasso. NOT.
K and I started making some craft items with little man this afternoon.
They involved painting his hand.
Oy vey.
The first time we tried it, we used a stamp pad. We pressed his hand onto the pad and then tried to get him to open his fingers and press them onto the surface of the plastic sheet.
Let's just say that did not go well.
Little Man was NOT happy about the ink on his skin and his instinct was to curl his fingers into his palm.
What a mess.
Ix-nay the stamp pad.
We pulled out the paint and decided to paint his hand instead.
After he took a nap.
That was the key. He was tired and a little out of sorts when we used the ink. Once he napped, he was in a much better mood and let us paint his hand and press it over and over.
K had to touch up a few missing fingers. We found out that babies do not open their fingers completely wide on command. Or spread their fingers. Sometimes they curl up one or two and refuse to open them. It makes the hand print look like the poor thing is missing a few fingers. Yikes.
K to the rescue. She had to dab in a few missing fingers. Crafting with babies is no walk in the park, people.
