Beach Escape

I love the beach at dusk. People are packing up from a day of beach-going and new people are coming in with firewood for bonfires. A whole different feel at night. Quieter tones, more space, and gorgeous colors as the sun sets behind us.

Tons of seals body surfing in the waves. We could see their bodies in full profile as the waves crested and the sun illuminated them. The water was a beautiful green color near the shoreline with darker blues behind as the water got deeper and deeper the further out it went.

But where there are seals, there are sharks. And we keep an eagle eye out for fins.

The rain was gone by the time we left the house for mini-golf. Small crew golfing this year. It's getting harder and harder to get everyone at the beach at the same time. People are coming in and going out and we didn't have a period when we were all there at the same time.

Four of us got to play and we squished, squished, squished our way through the 18 holes. It's an absolutely beautiful mini-golf course and they have replicas of local historic buildings spread throughout. Posted next to the replicas are signs with information about the building. Very cool. Educational mini-golf.
Cousin love.

Missing the three who couldn't be there with them.

Maybe next time.
