A Little Bit of Lovely

It's been a crazy week. Things seem to be moving so quickly with the Coronavirus fast overtaking the country.

At knitting last night the subject kept coming back to all the things we have been hearing on the news. Travel issues, lack of sanitizer and toilet paper, worry about loved ones who have compromised immune systems.

And then I got to work today and the situation started changing rapidly. First a few people canceled their attendance at some programs, then a few groups canceled programs. People were calling all day inquiring about whether we were open or not. Town organizations started canceling activities and events. The schools are closed starting next week. Libraries around the state, some right next door to us, are closing. It's scary out there.

But necessary.

From everything I've read and heard, we need to keep some distance from each other. I am definitely in the preemptive camp, not the reactive camp. We need to protect the weaker amongst us. If our world needs to stop for a few weeks to minimize the impact of this virus on our medical system, then it needs to happen.

It's a prudent response, not a panicked one.
I found some beautiful artwork on the side of a brick building yesterday.

A little bit of lovely in an ugly world right now.
