Cold of Winter

Spent some time walking through the greenhouses at a nearby college this past weekend. A lovely respite from  a {very} cold winter day.

The Man and I got to spend a day with our son, DIL, and her parents. The men went to some sort of woodworking event while the women took off in the complete opposite direction. We chose to have lunch at a quirky little Greek taverna, did some shopping, and got some bubble tea.

Later in the afternoon we met the men at a local brewery. We enjoyed a trio playing some alt folk music and tried some local craft beer. After that, we had dinner at the corner Italian restaurant and celebrated a dual retirement for A's parents. Bruschetta, pasta, wine - very delicious and a perfect complement for the winter's evening chill.

An absolutely lovely day.

"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness."
John Steinbeck
