Hey, Lime Pie

Got to hang out with these ladies tonight.

B, the one with the glasses on top of her head, is visiting us from across the pond. She loves Thanksgiving so she picked a great week to visit. We haven't all been together since our trip to Scandinavia last year. It was wonderful to be together and we picked up right where we left off.

Eating good food.
__________

We spent hours eating and chatting, catching up with each other and what's been going on in our lives. We laughed and joked and teased each other. Comfortable with each other's company. Good for the soul.

We debated dessert. Our waiter came over and rattled off the dessert special of the day, something about pumpkin fried ice cream. That didn't sound particularly appealing so M picked up the dessert menu and started reading.

"Oh, they have hey lime pie," she said.

"Hey lime pie? What is hey lime pie?" we all chimed in. M took a closer look at the menu, this time without her glasses. She sees better without her glasses when it comes to reading. She started laughing and laughing.

"It's not hey lime pie, it's key lime pie!" she got out between fits of laughter. She handed me the menu and I looked at it. Yup, key lime pie.

In her defense, the k looked like an h in the font they used and so it looked like "hey lime pie". That started a bunch of jokes likening it to the Ryan Gosling "Hey, girl" meme.

"I thought it was funny there was no comma after 'hey'," M said and we all started laughing again. For the rest of the night, all we had to say was "Hey, lime pie," and it would bring on a bunch of giggles.

Laughter, love, and lime pie.

Gosh, I love these ladies.
