Flowers and Photos and Football, Oh My!

What a fantastic fall weekend.

K and I took a flower decorating class, using pumpkins and flowers and other things you find out in the garden right now. We had so much fun.
__________

She was working very hard and concentrating.
The instructor, a master gardener, gave us lots of design tips and information on how to build a floral display. She provided so many different choices, lots of textures like grass and seeds and berries, as well as greens and flowers.
K's pretty pumpkin display. I just love all those happy daisy faces and the wildflower look. The instructor told us she plans her floral displays for holidays before she plans the food menu! She said her mother used to go outside before a holiday and gather things from the garden and yard to put together. They were always random displays using whatever she had available to her.

K and I decided we're going to grow some of those wildflowers next year so we can make these pretty displays whenever we want.
Someone in class recommended an Italian bakery down the road. We were hungry so we stopped in and bought some pastry and cookies to bring home.

They are very tasty. We've been texting tonight with our thoughts on all the different kinds we bought. We decided the almond filled pastry cups are our favorite. The Man and J liked the apricot and raspberry crostatas.

They were tasty too. It's a good thing we cut them each up into four tiny pieces. We could try several without feeling guilty.
The Man and I got to babysit little man O Saturday afternoon while his parents took car of some car issues. I got down on the floor and we played for about an hour. I had nothing else to do except play with him and shower him with love.

It's such an easy job.
We all went to church Sunday morning and got to hear our prior pastor, who retired several years ago, speak as a guest speaker. It was such a nice service and we enjoyed seeing all of our church family. We've been visiting area churches the past few months so it was nice to attend our home church this week and check in with everyone.

We missed our peoples.

After church, K and little man came over for lunch and to review engagement photos. K, her fiance B, and I went out Saturday afternoon for their engagement photo shoot. We had such fun and they were both good sports and creative and cooperative and a joy to be with. I love, love, love their photos.

K came over to look at them and pick out the ones she liked the best for me to edit. I am so extremely happy with how they are coming out. She loved them.

We happened to be in a field at the end of an airport taking a few shots when a plane went overhead. The two of them started running, like the plane was chasing them, and I was snapping away. B is going to edit one of them to look like the plane is shooting at them. Crazy. But kind of cute. K's face is priceless in the photos. She's trying to look scared. But B is smiling. I think he loved the thought of this photo and couldn't help himself from smiling. I can't wait to see how he edits it.

J came over for football Sunday. We've been doing this all season. We eat good food, share different craft beers, and rant and cheer over the games. It's a whole lot of fun.

Tonight was ribs, coleslaw, cornbread, and baked beans. The Man found a delicious recipe for ribs.
It takes two days to make them but they are worth every minute.
