December 23. Christmas Eve eve. Or Christmas Eve squared.
My favorite day of the season.
All of the fun is still to come. Time to enjoy the small things - a Christmas movie, a cup of hot chocolate with carols playing in the background, a piece of fudge or a cookie and some tea.
K and I got to be Christmas elves tonight.
I had some packages I had to deliver before Christmas and wanted some company. I had to promise her a cup of holiday flavored coffee from a local coffee shop to get her to go with me. We played Christmas carols while driving around and sang along rather boisterously.
Well, I did.
She refused to participate. And might have entreated me to stop trying to sing. I'm not known for my singing abilities. One Sunday in church I was singing my little heart out, thinking I was sounding pretty good. The teenage boy in front of me turned around slowly and stared at me.
Not in a friendly, "Wow! She sounds great!" kind of way.
More like a, "Lady, please stop singing" kind of way.
But that doesn't stop me. I still sing my heart out every chance I get.
